LVHS Class of 1951 Personal Notes

EDWIN ALDEN: In high school, you knew me as EDWIN O'CONNOR After graduating from LVHS, Ed spent a year at the University of Nevada (Reno). His Uncle Sam then treated him to an all expense paid tour of Korea. He married Camille de Wolfe in 1957. They have one son (Marcus), a lovely daughter-in-law (Deborah) and three MAGNIFICENT grandchildren (Kai, Kara, and Niki). Cam & Ed enjoy reading, hiking and travelling. Ed has more than thirty years of experience in the field of management, organizational development and team building. He has a broad academic background (BS in Physics, Masters and Ph.D. in Public Administration with an emphasis on R&D Management). He has taught graduate level courses for the University of Southern California, and the California State University system He was an Adjunct Professor at the Naval Postgraduate School (1977- 1978). He was a Senior Faculty Member and Professor of Management Science at the Federal Executive Institute in Charlottesville, Virginia from 1984 until his retirement from Civil Service in 1988. Ed & Cam are confirmed desert rats. They live in the upper Mojave Desert in Ridgecrest, California.

Hi! I have 3 kids and 6 grandkids. I have been single since 73 but still looking. I am retired and love it although busy all the time - golf ,tennis ,travel, etc. Happy New Year, Chuck Evans (Lives in Las Vegas)



Pete Hess and his wife, Carmen, live in Prescott, AZ. Pete has retired from over 30 years as a Commercial Airline Pilot. He was Captain on Boeing 757s for Northwest Airlines when he retired. Both Pete and Carmen fly their own twin engine Piper Commanche for pleasure now. Their E-Mail address is pvhess@prodigy.net. Pete plans to be at our 50th reunion.

Hi! I live here in Las Vegas, Nevada. After High School, I attended USC then graduated from the University of Missouri School of Dentistry. I became a cosmetic dentist and practiced here in Las Vegas until 1996. Since that time I have been seeking a more adventurous challange--Global Internet Marketing. I love the broad friendship and information base I have found in my last three years working and developing this business. Not only is the computer and software experience stimulating but also, the wonderful friends I have found in all parts of the world are an absolute joy. This market area is new and exciting. I am helping contact members of the Class of 1951 for our Reunion in 2001. Hi, Classmates, I have lived in Las Vegas all the rest of my life, retiring from the Las Vegas Fire Department with 29 years of service. Katie, my wife of 40 years also retired from the Clark County School District in 1986, and we have had lots of experiences as retirees. We are always busy with Fraternal Order of Eagles "officerships" as well as working with AARP as volunteers and active participation with the Retired Public Employees of Nevada.
I have offered to help with the organization of our Big 50 reunion, and must get to work on the finalization of the details. Will be back on this web page when we get more information. Hope for a big crowd.

After leaving Las Vegas High School I attended Brigham Young University. I interrupted my education to serve a mission for the LDS Church in Germany and then returned to school graduating with a BA degree in Finance and Banking in 1958. Having been part of the Air Force ROTC at school, upon graduating, I was taken right into the Air Force with a 4 year commitment. I married my wife Helen in the summer of that same year. We have 5 children and 14 grandchildren. After leaving the Air Force in 1962 I entered the investment business in the state of Washington and retired in 1999. We reside in University Place, Washington. During our married lives we have had some interesting experiences such as living in Adelaide, Australia for 3 years as a Mission President for the LDS Church and traveling around a good share of the world. Our lives have been rich and full with family, friends, business, community and church. We are anxious to attend an amazing 50th reunion of our high school graduating class. Dick Wells

LeRoy Wentz and wife Julia of 41 years reside on a rural farm 3 miles West of Buckley, Washington. They have 4 children and 4 grandchildren. Julia teaches private piano and voice lessons. LeRoy (retired since 92) loves computer programming, bird watching and deep sea fishing and raises Dahlias and Roses. LeRoy's Mother and two Sisters still reside in Las Vegas. (lwentz@juno.com)
